Allium Macrostemon Extract

1.Product introduction

Allium macrostemon extract is a solid powder made from the dried bulbs of a Lily plant. The extracts are boiled in water, filtered to remove the residue, concentrated in the filtrate, and spray dried. The raw stemon should be harvested from May to June of the second year after planting. The bulbs should be dug up, the leaves and roots removed, the soil washed, fresh or slightly steamed, and dried in the sun or kang dried. The bulb of Allium macrostemon contains allicine, allicose and other chemical components, which can be used in cardiovascular and respiratory systems, anti-platelet aggregation and hypolipidemia. The extracts can be used to produce capsules, tablets, granules, powders and other dosage forms.

5. Pharmacological effects

(1) Effects on cardiovascular system: PGA1 has antihypertensive and diuretic effects; PGB2 has the effect of vasoconstriction, and its activity is stronger than PGE2 and PGE2a. Allium macrostemon reduced coronary artery flow in isolated rabbits, and then showed rapid shrinkage of cardiac contractility. Allium macrostemon has a mild inhibitory effect on heart rate.

(2) Effects on respiratory system: Macrostemon significantly interferes with the metabolism of arachidonic acid of platelets, inhibits the cycx-oxidase pathway, blocks the synthesis of TXA2, increases the synthesis of PGI2 and decreases the ratio of TXA2/PGI2, thereby alleviating the spasm of bronchial smooth muscle.

(3) Anti-platelet aggregation: The sulfides contained in the volatile oil of A Stemon, A, E, F, G, and adenosine showed a strong inhibitory effect on ADP-induced platelet aggregation.

(4) Lowering blood lipids and anti-atherosclerosis effects: MATS can significantly reduce the contents of TC and LDL-C in blood of hyperlipidemia rats, significantly reduce the content of TG, increase the level of HDL-C in blood, and significantly reduce the content of LPO. The Allium macrostemon extract also inhibited the proliferation of smooth muscle cells and reduced the formation of foam cells.

(5) Anti-tumor activity: The ethanol extract of a stemon macrostemon inhibits the phospholipid synthesis of HELA cells induced by TPA, and the preparations containing a stemon also have anti-tumor activity.

Base: This product is Allium macrostemon Bge, a liliaceae plant. Or the dried bulb of a macroallium chinensis G. don. Summer and autumn to dig, wash, remove the roots, steam or boil in boiling water, dry in the sun.

Properties: Small root garlic is irregularly oval, 0.5-1.5cm high, 0.5-1.8cm diameter. Surface yellowish-white or yellowish-brown, shrunken, translucent, coated with white membranous scales, bulb discs protuberant at base. Hard and horny. Garlic odor, slightly spicy taste. Macrostemon is a slightly oblate, long ovate, 1 -- 3cm in height and 0.3 -- 1.2cm in diameter. Surface yellowish brown or tan, with light longitudinal wrinkles. Soft quality, cross section visible scale leaf 2-3 layers, chew the sticky teeth.

Identification: Take 4g powder of this product, add 20ml n-hexane, ultrasonic treatment for 20 minutes, filter, dry the filtrate, residue add 1ml n-hexane to dissolve, as the test product solution. The control medicinal material 4g of a macrostemon macrostemon was obtained by the same method. According to thin layer chromatography (Appendix Ⅵ B) test, absorb 10μl each of the above two solutions, respectively on the same silica gel H thin layer plate, using n-hexane-ethyl acetate (10:1) as the developing agent, spread, take out, dry, smoked with iodine vapor until the spots show clear color. In the chromatographic position of the test product, the same color spots were shown in the chromatographic position corresponding to the control drug.

Sexual taste: hot, bitter, warm.

Meridian: lung, stomach, large intestine meridian.

Effect: Tongyang disperses knot, line gas guide stagnation.

Indications: For chest pain, phlegm and cough, heavy after dysentery.
